Changes.....

Three months ago I decided to track EVERY penny we spent and what we spent it on. We both felt like we were living within our means, we wern't going out alot, we didnt eat out alot, watched our grocery bill, and wern't buying expensive clothing. So where was our money going? First of all, we were living well above what we were making......which surprised both of us. Second of all, the things we spent the most money on were just STUPID! Energy drink here, McDonalds for lunch every once in awhile, grocery shopping every week and stupid trips where we were spending way to much gas. Sooo, the next month, I decided to cut down on the things we did not need. We canceled memberships we did not use, started carpooling to work and only taking one vehicle ect. Its amazing how all the small things add up and how you dont realize where your money is going.

I just got done reading a book on finances from the library and one of the assignments in there was to figure out how you value money. How do you value money? I figured out I value money as stability and helping others....aka, not having to worry. My husband and I put our values together and set up long term, short term and immediate goals. Each and every day we improve and are continuing to grow. We set up a long term savings account, drastically cut down our budget and are using that extra money to pay off credit cards. One of our goals is to have all our credit card debt paid off by the end of the year.

So what is your value of money? What are your long term, short term and immediate goals? How are you spending your money this month?????????
