This is from te new book I am reading, "The five lessons a millionare taught me" By Richard Paul Evans. Money is not the root of all evil.....the love of money is the root of all evil. These are the five lessons:
1. Decide to be wealthy.
If we don't have a definite idea of what we want our lives to become, it really doesn't matter what road we take to get there. If you want more than living from paycheck to paycheck, the first step is decide you are going to be wealthy.
2. Take Responsibility For Your Money.
"Money makes a good servant but a bad master." It is vital to your fiscal survival to be in the driver’s seat of your finances; they are yours and you are the steward. Regardless of past financial mistakes, there is hope. Take these four steps to get on track with your money: A) Know how much money you have. B) Know where your money comes from. C) Know where your money is going. D) Know what your money is doing.
3. Keep a Portion of Everything Your Earn...
because it’s yours to keep and is your key to building wealth. Too many people think that what they earn today, they’ll earn forever. Remember, we never know when disaster will strike.
4. Win in the margins.
Successful wealth builders find additional ways to add to their growing nest eggs and building financial nest eggs can be done in two ways: 1) Increased earnings or 2) Increased savings. Richard Paul Evans recommends both. In life, we attract what we wish for. When we look for ways to make extra money, opportunities will come. Actively search for those opportunities. Luck favors the bold. “It’s never too late to do the right thing or the smart thing and enjoy the benefits it brings.”
5. Give Back. .
The most honorable and enjoyable use of money is when you use it to help and serve others. Remember, generosity feeds the soul and brings blessings. Along with sharing your financial wealth, share your new-found wealth of knowledge in money management principles with those around you. “The sin of the desert is knowing where the water is and not telling anyone.”
